Professer Linda Keane
SAIC Professor of Architecture & Environmental Design at SAIC
Linda Keane, FAIA, NOMA, is an architect and design educator. She studied in England, France, and Spain before serving a FULBRIGHT In Turkey studying the ecology of migratory populations. Professor of Architecture and Environmental Design, she founded the architecture programs at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago creating a suite of ethical, environmental, ecological, and engaging courses. She teaches Study Abroad programs through UWM in Europe. Her firm, STUDIO 1032 with partner Mark Keane, works on green initiatives along the Chicago/Milwaukee Corridor including humans and nature strategies. She co-founded the NEXT.cc E-learning STEAM by Design nonprofit to introduce architecture and design to K16 students and teachers; now used in 52 states and over 200 countries, design is the toolkit for imagining the future. She is a keynote speaker, national and international Invited panelist and cited author on design education research. Her innovation in design of learning is recognized by the ÑÇÉ«Ó°¿ân Institute of Architects, Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture, ÑÇÉ«Ó°¿ân Architecture Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts, National Environmental Education Foundation, PBS Imagine Union Chicago, Union of International Architects, and United States Green Building Council. She delivers Learning Anywhere Anytime Keynotes at Conferences, leads family and student workshops, teacher professional development, and curriculum consulting programs empowering youth voice and interest in creating a better and more equitable world.
